Listen to all the Ford diehards defending their beloved company as if Ford corporate fat cats needed their help flying their jets to and fro from Washington! How pathetic! They asked, which is just as irresponsible as those who took the money! I don't like any of them!

Ford never received any bail out funds. Ford applied for them, but never took them.

FORD didn't take any money! It clearly states that in the article. Hell, I've "ALMOST" done a lot of things?? Almost taking money DOESN'T count as actually taking the money. Bottom line is they didn't take a "red cent" of tax payer money

Regardless of the numbers and the pros and cons which many people debate, I believe one big question remains unanswered: Have the US automakers reworked their failing practices to avoid the need for future "assistance?" I believe the answer is no.

Shows what corporate lobbyists can provide for their clients. Meanwhile, we pay the taxes and the wealthy use their tax cut money to invest in offshore tax havens.

To sumarize. The auto industry needed a bail out because the companies were badly managed.

Not all the money has been paid back.

Not all the money will be paid back.

The average tax payer was fleeced by rich corporations with the aid of politicians.

Not much has changed.

If GM is any example no lessons were learned.

Some "half truths" and leading statements, but overall pretty much the truth is told here.

Best thing that happened to Ford was Alan Mulally!!!

Retired-Coastie apparently wants to besmirch Ford and its positive image of independence. From the article:

"Although Ford didn't need, and didn't receive any funds, it also didn't want its competition to get the upper hand thanks to the government bailout."

Companies that resist the easy sugar-rush of government money, and practice properly balanced fiscal "nutrition" succeed with long-term fiscal health. Why the misleading statement, Retired-Coastie?
