Analysts expect gas prices to decrease or remain mostly flat not only in 2014, but for years to come. Nonetheless, drivers in some states will see higher prices at the pump, starting January 1.

Gas prices may not have seemed all that cheap in 2013. But in fact, prices for the year as a whole were less expensive than they have been. According to AAA’s year-end report, American drivers paid $3.49 per gallon of regular, on average for 2013. That’s the cheapest per-gallon average since 2010; the national average was just above $3.50 in 2011 and hit $3.60 per gallon in 2012. Even so, 2013 stands as the third most expensive year for gasoline prices in U.S. history.

And this surprise anyone? The bottom line is working class taxpayers will continue to be screwed at the pump, with our utilities, & with our taxes to support Oblamer's tree hugging, stimulus sucking, union dominated, ultra liberal agenda. Stop this madness in Nov 2014!

Last year's gas prices were ridiculous, considering there were no major refinery outages, like the five of them I know of for 2012, yet our annual average gas price was only 11 cents less than last year. However, here in Tucson, right now we are paying an average of a whopping 25 cents more now than last year at this time, which is absolutely ridiculous. Did we all of a sudden strike it rich or something? Obviously not, but the gas prices here are completely outrageous, and as long as speculators keep finding hair-raising excuses to jack up the prices of WTI crude oil and RBOB gasoline, while our government does nothing but ask big oil companies and speculators for hand-outs, then inflated oil and gas prices are here to stay.

Doesn't feel like the cheapest average since 2010.

This shows the problem with statistics use - cheapest price since 2010 is still the 3rd highest on record.

There's no such thing as "cheap" under the Obama dictatorship.

Just wait till you start paying your Obamacare tab - NOT just the monthly policy.

Ours here were cheaper most of Jan. 2013 but then started upward and by Aug. were 60 cents or so higher than early Jan. Then they started to gradually slide down and by year end were still 10 cents higher than Jan.
