West Texas Intermediate rose for the first time in three days amid forecasts that crude inventories probably fell in the U.S, the world’s largest oil consumer.

Futures climbed as much as 0.6 percent after an annual gain of a 7.2 percent in 2013. The Energy Information Administration is predicted to report that crude stockpiles decreased by 2.83 million barrels to 364.7 million last week, according to a Bloomberg News survey before the data is released tomorrow. South Sudan declared a state of emergency in two areas, including the oil-producing Unity region.

“U.S. oil demand will be underpinned by the improving economy and should remain higher year-on-year,” Amrita Sen, chief oil market strategist at Energy Aspects Ltd., a consulting company in London, said today by e-mail.

What SHOULD South Sudan have to do with the market pricing of WTI crude? NOTHING!! WTI crude is NOT shipping TO the Middle East or THROUGH the Middle East. What a scam. And our politicians really don't care how much we pay for gasoline. What they really want are six figure handouts from big oil companies and speculators for their campaigns and tell the duped voters that they really care about US and represent US. I wish they all had Pinocchio noses. Boy, would those noses be long enough that pigeons could perch on them.

In another article, oil is down because of the stronger dollar. Here it is up because of inventories. It is all speculation.

And this will be used to justify a price increase at the pump of a questionable amount.

Nothing like spinning the information the way you want it to control the prices. This system really needs to be changed

Supply data is not accurate. Prices have been like a roller coaster. I question if there is greater demand in the U.S. yet as the country continues to struggle to get back on its feet.
