For the handful of New York transit officials who collect and catalog more than 50,000 items a year lost on commuter trains, subways and buses, the flood of wallets, eyeglasses and smartphones is occasionally broken by tales of some of the crazier things left behind.

There was a pet bunny rabbit, a prosthetic leg, a car bumper, a tuba, a diamond engagement ring and an ordinary-looking briefcase that was opened to reveal a dizzying array of adult toys.

“We get false teeth almost every week,” said William Bonner, supervisor of the New York City Transit lost-and-found office below the 34th Street subway, which has amassed 26,000 items this year. “How do you lose your teeth?”

At the Metropolitan Transit Authority's Metro-North Railroad lost and found, five clerks oversee the 100 to 150 item

Happy 2014 to you too, T42.

Would someone tell me how you drive to the grocery store, and leave behind your keys to your Cadillac, Lincoln, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Lexus, and Infinity, and drive away. These are just some of the keys we have collected over the past year.

ok? I think they are trying to avoid posting actual news about the gas prices because they KNOW people are about done with big oil and want to see them crucified right now.

We've lost some weird things on NYC transit. Hey, It's New York what would you expect? People loose stuff all the time and it will continue to happen - but loose a bicycle? People would loose their butts if it wasn't attached! Some of the stuff that is left on NYC transit, amazing?
Drive vehicles with high mpg, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
