As it prepares to break ground on a $6.5 million test track, the new University of Michigan Mobility Transformation Center already has its sights set on taking over the roads of Ann Arbor. The center, a cross-disciplinary collaboration, announced that it is aiming to put a fleet of connected and autonomous vehicles on public roads by 2021. If successful, the area would likely be the first in America to have a shared fleet of networked driverless vehicles. U-M Transportation Research Institute director Peter Sweatman is also heading up the new center. Great better for the youth (16-25), disabled and elderly who need these devices to remain independent and functioning without causing accidents

I don’t like this technology; I enjoy driving and would prefer to have physical control of my automobile.

On the bright side you may never get a ticket again, it should be sent to the software company who caused the vehicle to err.

It might also put a large number of traffic cops out of a job.

To err is human... to really screw up something up takes a computer.

I can see it now... A person jumps in and tells the vehicle to take them to the nearest crack dealer or the nearest convience store so they can rob it.
