H-fuelled automobiles are definitely in the crosshairs at Toyota and other manufacturers

Housed in a thinly disguised HS250 body, the FCHV system comprises a fuel cell stack, a PCU, a NiMH pack, and an electric motor. The H and O are combined on the vehicle to generate power for the motor. The battery pack stores energy from the fuel cell stack as well as from electricity generated by reverse-polarity deceleration, and a pair of H tanks in the trunk

Tt results in 122HP and 190ftlbs torque, which is enough to send the FCV to 62mph in about 10s, with an estimated top speed 97mph and a driving driving range of 300-450mi

We hit 80-85mph without much effort

The only sounds you can hear are road and wind noise, plus a small whine from the electric motor

The H fuel cell will function at -20F

the two most common elements in the universe: hydrogen and stupidity. Too bad we can't harvest the latter for fuel.

Anything is better than ethanol ! Car prices need to be equal to gas vehicles though.

Why don't they learn to produce regular cars with less recalls first.

Lithium Ion batteries catch fire, maybe we can expect Hydrogen bombs with this idea. I wish that products didn't come out until the developers and their families have proven things safe for a minimum of 10 years.

Seems simple that solar energy can be stored as hydrogen with far less polution than batteries.
