The man most responsible is Harold Hamm, 67, a drawling, blue-eyed billionaire, a sharecropper’s son who grew to be the richest energy mogul in America. He was the first to profitably “frack” North Dakota oil wells, leading a revolution in the way the nation coaxes energy from the earth and draining momentum from the search for cleaner fuel sources. His company, Continental Resources, has quintupled in value in a matter of years, emerging as a swaggering promoter of eco-friendly, effectively infinite oil — along with all the supposed good that flows from it.

Aw, shucks -- first time I've been called a, what is that, a 'disingenuous'-- must mean something in the 'Sharecropper' language?

Wonder whether he's talked to any of the ordinary citizens in ND? They ain't profiting from his 'fracking'.

In spite of the whiners, success is good - especially when it is earned. He made something of himself and got rich on his own merit. He worked for his profits and deserves them - same as Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Ford, Edison and others - all of whom were poor in the beginning. Collectively these Americans changed the world. Sorry, but I just don't see that as a bad thing. Anyone else here has the same opportunity. Just because it's not easy doesn't make it bad or wrong.
