France’s constitutional court upheld a ban on hydraulic fracturing, ruling that the law against the energy-exploration technique known as fracking is a valid means of protecting the environment.

The 2011 law “conforms to the constitution” and is not “disproportionate,” the court in Paris said in a decision posted on its website today.

Schuepbach Energy LLC, a Dallas-based explorer, complained to the court that the law was unfair after having two exploration permits revoked because of the ban. President Francois Hollande has said France won’t allow exploration of shale energy even as the country seeks to reduce its reliance on nuclear energy and keep down costs for consumers.

“It’s a judicial victory but also an environmental and political victory,” French Environment Minister Philippe

teafortwo: Perhaps the French are looking ahead to when they will be able to sell clean, pure, non-fracking-toxified water for more than they get for their finest wines ;0}

You know it, brother!

This kind of law in France banning hydraulic fracturing technology is the result of the alliance of the Green and Socialist parties to form a coalition government. The law banning fracking is constitutional but the law is a foolish and very short sighted law that will do even more damage to a very fragile economy in France.

When the economies of both France and Germany continue to lose companies and industrial capacity as more and more business entities move to countries where the tax, political and economic opportunities are better, the citizens will become hungry enough, poor enough and desperate to find leaders who will reverse this type of ideological economic suicide.

The French are probably developing a car that runs on wine.
Given their nature, it would be cheaper if the French could make engines that run on whine

Help only those who try to help themselves is a good rule. Apply it here, and do not sell any energy product to France....

The result of a Socialist/Green government.
Going too far to the left, is going to sink the country.

Like the new 75% tax bracket, nuts...!

The left always think that the main problem of a country is a "revenue problem". They cannot and will not accept that it is a "spending problem".
Same as Obama and his crooks.

Great. One more small step toward the complete collapse of France. Money-making industry has been leaving for decades, leaving nothing but the parasites to riot in the streets.
