Not all scientists are panicking about global warming — one of them finds the alarmism “hilarious.”

A top climate scientist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology lambasted a new report by the UN’s climate bureaucracy that blamed mankind as the main cause of global warming and whitewashed the fact that there has been a hiatus in warming for the last 15 years.

“I think that the latest IPCC report has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence,” Dr. Richard Lindzen told Climate Depot, a global warming skeptic news site. “They are proclaiming increased confidence in their models as the discrepancies between their models and observations increase.”

Scientists have been struggling to explain the 15-yr hiatus in GW, and governments have been urging them to whitewash the facts

Newest UN climate report is ‘Hilariously’ flawed! There is Not enough 'History' to determine if there is Global Warming or Global Cooling. Or if there is more or less output from the sun that affects the earth's atmosphere to cycle the way it does. Much more recorded history is necessary to make an accurate decision. But, use less of the more polluting energy sources and more of the cleaner sources is the way to go. There are too many climate opinions and Not enough facts to determine exactly WHAT is happening.

The UN climate reports have always been ridiculously flawed. Why should it be any different this year?

Suspect that the Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) Phase-out begun in the 1990s would be a more reasonable explanation for the 15-year hiatus in global warming.

Temperatures run in cycles, a few warm years followed by a few cold years and then a few average years. Based on record highs shown on the local news, we had record higher temps in the 1880's -1890's and record colder temps shortly after. Stop believing politicians and eggheads, they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

I've been laughing for year. Imagine grown adults thinking that the climate isn't supposed to change.

Imagine grown adults insisting that their forecasts are correct when the very same models that they use to predict doomsday have been laughably wrong so far - even unable, after the fact, to explain why we've had a 15-year "pause" in regional warming.

Gee, you think the sunspots might have something to do with it?

Come on, people, use the brains you were given and stop relying on "experts" with agendas.

". . . at gatherings of climate change skeptics . . . Dr. Lindzen has been treated as a star", but in the view of "the scientific majority . . . he has gone beyond any reasonable reading of the evidence to provide a dangerous alibi for inaction."

Is the planet warming? It seems so, but probably not anywhere near the rate predicted.

Are humans a cause or contributing factor? Probably, but to what extent is certainly debatable.

Can anything be done about that? Maybe, if we have every society on the planet get on board to agree on action that might help. The chances for that are somewhere between zero and not that good.

If you believe the rhetoric of some, and the predictions of the IPCC, the best thing for the planet would be for the earth's population to commit suicide. The downside of that, well one of the downsides, just might be that it wouldn't really affect the climate.

And to think we pay for more of the UN's budget than any other country. And this is what we get. Along with blood diamonds, smuggling, mistreatment of refugees, and rape by "peace keepers."

Don't forget to brainwash your children this Halloween with cute pictures of Third World children being "helped" by UNICEF!

I cannot see how man-made warming could effect the direction and velocity of the jet stream; which is what's making the changes so frequent all over planet. Is it warmer in Phoenix AZ now than it was 50 years ago ? You bet your butt it is. Reason should be obvious. But IS THERE ANYONE who could explain how mans hand can CHANGE THE JET STREAM PATTERNS ?
