The weekly natural gas storage report affects natural gas prices

Every week, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) releases data on how much natural gas is stored in facilities across the United States. These figures, also called “natural gas inventories,” can affect U.S. natural gas prices and therefore the valuation of producers of natural gas. A larger-than-expected decrease, or “draw,” in inventories can reflect greater demand or less supply (or both) and is a positive for natural gas prices (and vice versa for a smaller-than-expected decrease). A larger-than-expected increase, or “build,” in inventories can reflect less demand or greater supply, which is a negative for natural gas prices. Natural gas prices affect the earnings and valuation of domestic natural gas producers suc

Just another example of Obama's refusal to get involved with any energy controls. The bottom line is that Obama has done nothing to control oil speculation/prices, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, or improve our economy. The sole agenda of Obama is to cater to his tree hugging, stimulus sucking, union dominated, ultra liberal major contributors. As a result, we continue to be screwed at the pump, with our utilities, & with our taxes. Nothing will change as long as Obama is in office & controls the Senate. 2014 Elections are coming - stop this madness!!

So the price went up to $3.42. Five years ago it was above $13.
The current price and production are constrained by the lack of infastructure in some of the newer producing areas.
Companies like Rangee Resources and Markwest are building gathering lines and plants as quickly as possible, but hundreds of completed wells are still waiting for connections.

Same thing as gasoline- supply goes up, price rises.

This is one commodity that should NOT be going up. There is so much of it, producers shut off valves because of low prices and they were not making enough.

Once they get us hooked on natural gas, the price will go through the roof.

To me it appears the prices are just following the historical pattern. So the article's "better-than-expected" forecast is sadly reflective of lack of basic article writing pre-research.

They will probably figure out how to manipulate inventory to cause prices to rise.

Increased by 65 bcf instead of 70 bcf and this implies greater demand?
