Fascinating!

This is a beginning project and might not even be in the "work in progress" stage.

I'll see when i believe it.

In the meantime, let the sunshine it.
The future so bright, gotta wear shades.

Of course this can be done. The question is whether the cost of the solar energy will actually provide cheap enough electricity for the process.

How many times have I heard this about Hydrogen ie. a game changer, efficient production of Hydrogen etc.. Best heard of yet was the bacteria in a swamp production but hard to collect the gas & filter it -I guess!!!
Here it stated using solar to heat to 2,500 degrees & wondered how solar can get that hot??? Then, the crutch is revealed in the last sentence:
'working system ...would require a number of the tall towers, each with its own reactor, to gather concentrated sunlight from several acres of mirrors surrounding each tower.'
This would be a working model, not a commercially viable one. So what's the cost of 12+ acres of mirrors, several towers & several reactors???? I came to over 12 acres as 'a number' is usually more than 'a couple' or 'a few' & 'several' must mean 3 or more - hence 4+ x 3+ is 12+ - heck could mean 50 acres.

Initial costs will be high, I wonder what payback time would be for break even. A lot of good ideas around but no mention of what type of savings there would be.

"How many times have we read articles about fantastic breakthroughs in energy
production? How many times do we ever hear any more about them?"

Science is usually a slow, steady, expensive march to achieve small levels of improvement. These are then hailed as "Game Changing Breakthroughs" in the popular press. When they don't produce saleable products immediately, they are forgotten until the next headline writer stumbles across them again.

Technology breakthroughs will occur but time must be allowed for the technology to become commercially viable. It doesn't happen overnight.
