Ethanol fell after an analyst said corn planting may exceed U.S. estimates. The biofuel’s discount to gasoline tightened for a third day.

“Ethanol is really falling along with corn today,” said Will Babler, a broker in Galena, Illinois, for Atten Babler Risk Management LLC. “The market is still looking for direction on total acres, yield prospects and weather outlooks. There’s a lot of debate going on about the different factors.”

Making fuel from food stuff has always been a big mistake. Food prices have been driven up. Corn ethanol has been pushed by the Midwestern politicians too far. It's time to stop this practice.

The high cost of oil is the cause for high food prices not the making of ethanol. It is mostly the excess corn used for ethanol. Find out the true facts and stop listening to the Big Oil Company LIES.

It's getting harder and harder to find pure gas with no ethanol.
I'm still finding a few PURE stations that handle it, but they are few and far between.

toadNY, it looks like you are another memory challenged wing nut because the ethanol mandate was passed in 2005, when we had a RepubliTWIT majority in Congress and Bush was President!

Very dumb to be burning our food. If it was better, or at least equal to, gasoline, there may be some discussion !

Ethanol produces:
1. lower fuel mileage per gallon
2. higher food prices

Let's see lower gas prices and especially grocery prices.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Pub.L. 109–58) is a bill passed by the United States Congress on July 29, 2005, and signed into law by President George W. Bush on August 8, 2005, at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Looks like the Republicans were behind the whole thing.

I now check the pumps when I fill to see if there is ethanol. Usually there is that 10% posting. It is not always listed, but is it required to be posted?
