CHEYENNE — A federal environmental regulator will not finish or review a draft report tentatively linking hydraulic fracturing to Wyoming groundwater contamination, instead leaving state agencies to further investigate the issue.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will support a plan by the state of Wyoming to further investigate contamination previously linked to oil and gas operations east of the town of Pavillion.

There's absolutely no question that the EPA has wasted billions of tax payer money trying in vain to 'crucify' oil and gas producers.

But there will always remain the Eco-imperialist faction that believes the end justifies the means.

I don't think it'll really matter.

The nattering nabobs will continue to pass on the lies the EPA seeded.

Nothing will happen until lots of people start dying. Hopefully conservatives will account for most of the victims.

If the president doesn't know what his job is, how can you expect the EPS to know that the heck they do?

If it's a gov't agency that works like the rest of the gov't, then I wouldn't trust it either.

Just what is the job of the EPA ? What or who are they protecting. Sounds like the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. Cant run, pass it, don't take a sack!

People who want to abolish the EPA really need to explain what they'd like to replace it with because we've seen what happens in countries that don't have the resources to protect their air, land, and water.

It's really sad when some people are so willing to risk other people's groundwater so that they can reap the benefits. The people who are so sure that fracking is safe, should drill only under their own property.

private wells have been supplying pure water for decades. Fracking starts and now wells are unusable. Gee what could be the cause?

Since EPA couldn't find anything they decided not to say so. Instead they support Wyoming's plan to do further testing thus avoiding the need to tell us that once again they found nothing wrong with fracking.

No matter what they say... Ground is porous and not infinitely solid. Therefore... oil and gas under pressure will always seek an escape and that does not always mean by way of a drilling conduit to the surface. To say an oil company can guarantee that the only route of excape for the oil and gas is by way of the drilling site is stupid and EPA backing out of this case is using one of the few examples of intelligence I have heard of in the last 5 years by the current administration.
