GULF SHORES, Ala. - Finding tar balls linked to the BP oil spill isn't difficult on some Gulf Coast beaches, but the company and the government say it isn't common enough to keep sending out the crews that patrolled the sand for three years in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

With the oil much still there, people have a justification to be so concerned.

The problem with oil spills is that oil corporations cannot clean it all up.

One more example why we need liability bonding for the oil companies and things such as clean-ups are done independently. There is no way the House of Representatives would support it though.

With the conditions of today, it is sure no surprise that it would take so long for this too occur.

I imagine it would be very difficult to clean all of the oil out of the water.

BP recognizes that the job continues - at least according to this article - but the Coast Guard doesn't? Strange goings on...

It never really ends.

BP is not off the hook, not by a long shot.

It's not over, until it's over.

Don't believe their ads! My family lives in Gulf Shores only 1 mile from the beach. When I say You cannot trust BP or the Government, I know what I'm talking about.

While not defending BP There was tar on the beaches way before the spill due to natural seepage and spill that happened in the GOM without being reported

BP will NEVER be able to clean up after itself, but it will continue to rake in the profits.

The cleaning will never stop. There are still small beaches near Potato Point in Alaska where EXXON VALDEZ spilled its load. Some native Alaskans still have not been paid for their loss of subsistence fishing.
