At one time, the developer of what was supposed to be one of the state’s largest solar farms near Sorrento said it would eventually provide as many as 500 construction and manufacturing jobs.

Now, BlueChip Energy of Lake Mary is being sued in U.S. District Court by SunTrust Equipment Finance and Leasing Corp..

The website ussolarinstitute.com is reporting that BlueChip, doing business as Advanced Solar Photonics, has been selling solar panels without the required listings from UL. This disqualifies the panel for inclusion in Florida Power and Light’s utility network..

“Florida customers who have already paid to have the technology installed must now pay to have it uninstalled — on top of going through the entire process again to outfit their properties with new solar panels,” the web si

question is, why were they able to dump those non-UL panels onto the market in the first place?

Underwriters' Laboratory was an early adopter label for consumer protection. It was intended to provide HOMEOWNERS some measure of condidence that the product they purchased was tested to operate as advertised and would be somewhat safe for HOME use. Who the hell decided that a bunch of solar panels standing in a field generating commercial power for the national grid needed protection against fire and flood??

Solar is a scam for political insiders to make money. Can you say Solyndra or Evergreen Solar?

I often wonder how companies get SO far into debt before acknowledging that they can't make it. If it were me, I think I'd quit just a bit earlier in the process. Then again, they're probably not playing with their own money.
