In the past decade, drillers have unlocked so much unconventional play, that America is enjoying record gas supplies and prices that are just a quarter of what Eastern countries pay. It is estimated that the annual U.S. gas supply could grow a further 25 percent by 2035, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

This phenomenon is being noticed globally and many are asking if America should begin to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to lead the nation's return to economic health and restore its status as a global energy leader.

"A superpower does not punch below its weight class and stay a superpower forever," Dominion Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas F. Farrell II said in a press release at the at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute f

And heating. And fertilizers. And hydrogen. And natural gas will no longer be competitive with gasoline. Everyone will pay more. The industry will run commercials saying it will benefit everyone, but it will benefit a few more than the rest...

Exporting a fuel source that could help lower US energy costs should be banned until we have our economy back on it's feet and energy prices in check.

There is a balance between re starting America's industrial machine (inexpensive NG) and exporting to steady LNG prices worldwide. Certainly improving our trade deficit at the sametime is a bonus. If we play this right (like real capitalist) there's hope for our kids to work in a superpower country. Like we did. Oh, and using NG to power factories is easier on the planet. Cleaner air. Bonus.

Without ANY policy out of the Obama administration, what do you expect? If its not green and costly, the he does not back it. Crazy. Its our most abundant fuel supply.

LostinNY...sending LNG for export has nothing to do with raising our prices. We don't live on an island. Monies from exports are to the benefit of the US.

Right now NG is dirt cheap, producers need some incentive to drill.

Fracking could be contaminating your groundwater at the very least it is using up vast amounts of freshwater and the NG it produces could very well be sent overseas or to Central America.

There will be jobs but the real winners are the producers.
