Drilling activity in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico continues its recovery, according to data from Rigzone's database RigLogix.

As of April 23, 37 semisubmersibles and drillships are under contract in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, according to RigLogix. Some articles promise to say something and end up saying nothing.

So much for all the lies of "Drill baby drill..." The oil get exported and does little to help the US consumer.

Thank God Obama declared a moratorium on Gulf drilling after the BP disaster. If you lived on the Gulf at the time, even you would have prayed for a moratorium until the spills were cleaned up and BP was taken to task over its carelessness.

Don't forget that this British oil company, whose deep water Macondo well ruptured on April 20, 2010, killed 11 men and spilled crude into the sea for weeks!

Unfortunately even after all this time tar balls and similar are still being found. How many birds do you think were killed by this Oil garbage?

Let's hope lessons are learned from past deepwater drilling disasters and the past does not repeat itself.

Absolutely spot on drpepper. It's been Obama's, Pelosi' s and Reid's doing why we have been at some of the lowest domestic oil production over the past 6 years. Remember the last couple of years of Bush's presidency, the house and Senate, which were controlled by these nitwits, fought Bush all the way on offshore drilling. Now Obama makes it appear like he's saving the country. And the minions will eat it up.

Well good, of course it had nowhere to go but up since Obama's illegal moratorium announcement. Predictions were on target that rigs that were deployed elsewhere around the world would take at least 3 years to return.

Yes, as our short-term memories fade into a soft blur of ignorance, we once again dive deep into the black murky oil sludged bottom of the Gulf of Mexico.
