CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - Two high-profile oil spills won't stem the now-record flow of Canadian oil into the United States, despite the frenzy that the spills triggered among friends and foes of the Keystone XL pipeline to the main U.S. refineries.

Midwest refiners have invested billions of dollars to tweak plants to take more of the heavy crude from the region, and a small but gr

I guess the bottom line is just how many 60year old+ pipelines have to leak before new ones replace them.
The lack of a National Energy Plan just highlights the increasing national need, both North & South, to address the diversity of crumbling infrastructure in our countries.

It's going to happen, no matter what the transport medium is. Just have to clean it up.

There will always be (for the near future anyway) some form of petroleum product transported across the USA. We should find the safest and most economically feasible method and use it. Thusly lowering costs and the possibilities of leaks or spills; accidents happen, and all safeguards should be in place. Eco terrorism also happens and should be looked into as a possible cause to several major leaks/spills.
