Toyota Motor Corp (7203).’s Camry ceded its rank as America’s best-selling mid-size car for the first time in 17 months, slipping behind Nissan Motor (7201) Co.’s Altima and losing share to Honda Motor Co (7267). and Ford Motor Co (F) (F). models. Camry sales in the U.S. declined 12 percent to 37,663 units last month, or 100 fewer than the Altima, whose deliveries declined 8 percent, according to company figures released yesterday. Must be government fleet purchases and government workers.

Who else has money?

We have to buy gasoline, so how can we afford car payments atop that?

This is major stuff! Camry has been the perennial favorite for years. Now to lose out to Altima is almost a slap in the face! Honda has come roaring back after a scary loss of market share due to unHonda-like quality problems and in the aftermath of the Fukushima earthquake. They certainly have taken note of their shortcomings and turned it around almost instantly. My hat is off to them.

Toyota and Honda quality have slipped. At same time, Ford quality has gotten very good.

But, Toyota has longevity and attains higher mileage without breakdowns. I have 300,000 miles on my 98 Camry and no major breakdowns, Change the brakes when needed, tires when needed and oil every 4-5000 miles. Runs like a good clock. Can't say that about American cars or Nissan products. This is my 4th Toyota.

Camry has more American made parts than any other car sold in the US. And it's also assembled in America. I've owned a bunch of them and haven't had one problem with any of them.
