Truck drivers and transportation firms could see a more substantial break at the diesel pumps after April. The U.S. Energy Information Administration foresees a general downward trend in the price of retail diesel fuel on highways for the remainder of the year. The latest projections for diesel anticipate a price of $4.01 per gallon in May, $3.94 per gallon in June, $3.86 per gallon in July, $3.86 per gallon in August, $3.84 per gallon in September, $3.83 per gallon in October, $3.86 per gallon in November and $3.84 per gallon in December. Retail prices include federal and state taxes. Projections are subject to change. The drop in diesel fuel costs could add up to significant savings for truckers, farmers, ranchers and others who rely on diesel in their business plans.

Diesel is 4.15$ here, but that's less than premium, and closing in on mid grade!

Diesel is worth it at any price!

Ask your elected officials to lower the tax on diesel to that of gasoline on both state and federal taxes.

Diesel owners have been paying too much at the pump too long.

When the wholesale prices of diesel and gasoline are within pennies of each other then the only reason for the higher price of diesel is that it is being used to subsidize gasoline. The people think they are getting a break but they pay a higher price for everything that is delivered by a vehicle using diesel fuel.

These so called experts cannot accurately predict prices for the following month so why believe their predicted decrease for the rest of the year?

It's already $4/gal here. Guess it will be $4.25 avg in this area then.

Here in the Chicago area, diesel is about on a par with midgrade gas. About 10 cents or a little more over regular. Diesel is still a good solution if you drive a lot of miles a day and don't want to invest in a hybrid.
