President Barack Obama will please 66 percent of Americans while riling his liberal base if he approves the Keystone XL pipeline opposed by environmentalists but backed by the oil industry, according to a new poll out Tuesday from the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. And the survey got a mixed message from the public on climate change.

Speaking of talking heads...how did your conversation with Bill and Jeff go at the event you invited me to to a couple weeks ago Eddie of the NSDP (New Social Democratic Party)? As I recall the two were quite at odds with recent statements as Jeff had indicated with this statement "“We are bringing some heavy sour Canadian crudes into Port Arthur,” “We want heavy sour crude in the Gulf Coast. Keystone pipeline is the most economical way for us to do that. We’re still fully supportive of the pipeline and we want to see it happen. Second to that, then you look at other alternatives to get heavy sours out.”

Woods McKenzie is not Ryder Scott; the later's work has been accepted by rating agencies and the SEC for 40 years. You can always find a talking head to back up what ever position you want. The problem is finding a competent talking head.

Did Woods McKenzie factor in the Total and Suncor project cancellations?

Wood Mackenzie, the energy research firm, predicted output of bitumen from the oil sands, will increase by 540,000 barrels a day over the next two years.

Almost three-quarters of that will come from projects that have already been approved and have a break-even oil price below $60 a barrel, WoodMac said. The current price for Canadian heavy oil is about $80 a barrel.

There is demand for the KXL.

NO approval for the Keystone XL pipeline. There are NO benefits whatsoever to the US.

WHY?

- CANADIAN oil
- Shale oil sand, very CORROSIVE
- CHINESE steel and piping to be used
- MINIMAL if any new additional US jobs
- From Canada to Texas, across the US, including going over huge AQUIFERS
- Oil will be EXPORTED to China or South America, NO PRICE RELIEF for the US
- US takes all the environmental RISKS without any benefits

So, pray tell, why should we approve the Keystone XL pipeline? No benefits to the US.

DISAPPROVE the Keystone XL pipeline, have Canada take care of their own oil with a pipeline across Canada.

Well now, Obama can't let popular interests lead his decisions, it's only the socialist left that matters to him!

When Valero left and spent their money for Keystone on buying 5,230 rail cars that put another $900 million hole in Keystone's financing that was already $2 billion short. Even if it is approved it probably won't get built because no one will finance it without the 30 year contracts to ship bitumen though the line. In the midst of all the political turmoil no one seems to have noticed that the oil market no longer favors imported crude that displaces US production and that heavy oil no longer commands a large enough discount to be more profitable to refine. You have to find someone besides the Koch brothers that are willing to put up the money to build the project.

Pew's polls showed Romney winning the 2012 election since they do not poll cell phones. We know how that turned out.
