Giovanni Cutillo, owner of Nino's Auto Repair at the Getty Station at 1820 Richmond Rd has been sent a letter from Hudson Petroleum Realty, LLC that they are in "default of the License Agreement" by failing to pump gas. He has 10 days to comply or will be forced to vacate the site. (Staten Island Advance/Jan Somma-Hammel)
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Eleven Staten Island Getty Stations could be "out of gas" and evicted from their leased property in 10 days if station owners continue to protest puny commissions and the lack of long-term lease agreements.

The parent company, Hudson Petroleum Realty, Inc., which has New York and Washington D.C. offices, hand delivered default notices dated March 4 to Getty station owners who stopped pumping gas Monday. The notices, delivered on Tuesday, sa

Unfortunately for the owners, Hudson Realty has them in a bad contract. Sounds like there is not much they can do if Hudson does not want to negotiate.

"A typical Getty station pumps 1,500 gallons of gas per day, according to the station owners -- and that figure yields just $97.50 per day in commissions. It's nowhere near enough to offset the average of $189.57 per day for all fees and labor costs, leaving stations with a daily average revenue loss of about $92.07."

Sell my product or hit the road. Pretty sad for a small business owner.

Businesses need to have reasonable certainty and at least a 1 year lease.

That's pretty harsh. They should know their lease a bit better.

There are two former Getty stations on state route 22 in Scarsdale/Eastchester in Westchester County. thesee two stations are now independent. How were they able to avoid Lukoil?

It is disgusting how these Getty retailers are being treated by Lukoil. I would shutdown if I was losing money and the parent company was profiting. it's like it's a monopoly.
