Several references to price fixing/gouging in the comments. How does that apply? This just says that prices can be changed from the corporate HQ rather than having an employee at each location do so. Either way, HQ is going to set the price (exception: employee error).

No the huge chain of Speedway does not have the "PriceAdvantage Smart Fuel Pricing" at their headquarters. Speedway owns and controls 1500 Speedway, GasAmerica and Rich gas stations across MI, IN, OH, KY, WV, IL and a few in WI and MN.
Speedway is still sending out emails ordering their Speedway employees to raise gas prices at a certain time, usually the next day. "PriceAdvantage" allows the headquarters of the chain owner to automatcally raise the gas pump price at their staions set up with "PriceAdvantage" from one central location all at the same time.
BTW, The Speedway chain has been first to raise prices in the Midwest for over ten years.

This just proves that the price fixing is real and obvious to us all !! Market manipulation for more profit is alive and not well for the American consumer! Marathon/Speedway has had this feature for a year or more and they continue to rob and plunder the American consumer weekly! Congress needs to put price and profit controls on all petroleum products in America! If Big Oil can use eminent domain to put pipelines throughout the country on private land, then the government can set the price of that product for the common good!

They already have something like that here. Once one station raises its prices, EVERY other one in the area does the same. Doesn't seem to be based on brand. Usually Speedway is the first and everyone follows.

Could a customer start filling at one price and finish at another?

In other words, it will now be easier for Big Oil to fix gasoline prices.

Making thousands more as they jack up prices in a matter of seconds rather than hours.
Not good news for all consumers!

Of course, instant price increases so they can change as soon as the ticker goes up, like they've been doing forever.

Means higher gas prices since these bandits are very slow to lower the gas prices when oil and gas futures prices go down in trading.

Sure it won't be a cost savings to consumers. Prices will probably rise quicker, but doubt that they will rush to lower them.

So here's the dilemma: Are you glad that someone(s) had a job to develop the automation to do this task electronically or are you mad that the local guy/gal no longer has to increase the price per gallon at the local store location? In the end it is always a "wash"!

An ad for this application...
Now, from the makers of that tried and true application "Specu-Traitor Gold" comes "AutoGouge 2.0". Screw your customers from the comfort of your deck chair in Palm Beach! Put your hands in the pocket of every American consumer without leaving your multi-million dollar estate! And, for a limited time only... we'll even throw in an app for your i-phone so you can jerk your customers chain 24 hours a day!
Somewhere I know Billy Mays is smiling...

Murphy,USA stations at Walmart stores have been doing this for a few years now. They change the pumps and the signs from headquarters.Tell the employees 15-30 minutes before the change.I was told by a person that was a manager at a station.
