Heard price parity comments since last century.
In all the years, still don't know why we have to pay same as other countries.
Big Oil makes record profits, partly by shipping to those other countries.
Taxpayers are paying more for taxes and energy. More is needed to repair roads and bridges. Where is money to create the rail systems?
Over the years, Ohio tried to create some systems, couldn't get funding. Looks worse now, but our president wants mass transportation? That works in some big cities. Not enough passengers per mile in rural areas.

When he speaks, Chu just echoes his boss, the Narcissist-in-Chief. His Royal-Self-Importantness stated in 2008 that electricity costs would necessarily skyrocket as a result of his administration's policies, why not extend that philosophy to all energy sectors. Oh, wait, he has!

When gas hit $2.50 under Bush, the Dumbocrat controlled House and Senate started screaming bloody murder about the poor (that they really don't care about) and how BUSH had to do something.
WHY are the Dumbocrats not screaming now?! Because again they didn't really care then and now that the Lair in Chief is in the WH, they could care less!

Of course. Obama's energy policies are that we go down the same failed green energy path that Europe went which caused their energy prices to skyrocket there. This is nothing new. Obama promised, "Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket," Obama told the SF Chronicle in January 2008. "Coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, you name it, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers." Not that Obama has kept any promises, but that one he certainly has.
After his cap-and-trade plan failed to pass in Congress, Obama as dictator decided to impose cap-and-trade through the EPA which has exceeded their authority in closing down the cheaper energy producing coal plants, costing thousands of Americans their jobs and hurting this economy.
As for gasoline, both Obama and his Energy Secretary Dr. Chu have said they wanted gasoline prices here at "European levels" ($8-10 per gallon) "to encourage conservation" and to make alternative energy more competitive. Obama has weakened the dollar and obstructed drilling on federal land and water. These policies increase the price of oil. And gasoline prices have more than doubled under Obama.
In Obama's typical way, he will blame House Republicans for the higher prices even though he has previously said that his policies will cause higher prices.
