The Narcissist-in-Chief stated in 2008 that electricity costs would necessarily skyrocket as a result of his administration's policies, why not extend that philosophy to all energy sectors. Oh, wait, he has!
The sad thing is this did little to diminish his popularity with low-information voters in the last election cycle; not that the MSM bothered to mention it, or that they cared.

Duh. The question is whether we are going to continue to subsidize the polluters with our tax giveaways or whether we are going to deal with the real costs of pollution and push toward cleaner energy and less energy usage.

That's just what Obummer wants. He would like to see the Carbon Tax too. And then the Value Added Tax. And then.... A typical Tax and Spend Democrat.

Of course. Obama's energy policies are that we go down the same failed green energy path that Europe went which caused their energy prices to skyrocket there. This is nothing new. Obama promised, "Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket," Obama told the SF Chronicle in January 2008. "Coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, you name it, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers." Not that Obama has kept any promises, but that one he certainly has.
After his cap-and-trade plan failed to pass in Congress, Obama as dictator decided to impose cap-and-trade through the EPA which has exceeded their authority in closing down the cheaper energy producing coal plants, costing thousands of Americans their jobs and hurting this economy.
As for gasoline, both Obama and his Energy Secretary Dr. Chu have said they wanted gasoline prices here at "European levels" ($8-10 per gallon) "to encourage conservation" and to make alternative energy more competitive.

If Energy prices go up, so does the price of almost everything. Since anything manufactured takes Energy. Anything shipped takes Energy.
