(75,000 x 4%) In 2012, I spent $1,311.76 on fuel while being unemployed. (tracked by Quicken) That's a hell of a lot more than a 4 percent cost.

I spend a little more than a thousand a year...that includes visits to my family that live out 4 and 6 hours away from me...
