ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – Jan 24,2013: Audi continues to drive progress in lighting technology. Today, its xenon plus- and LED headlights already provide excellent illumination of the road and give vehicles bearing the four rings an unmistakable look. In the future, vehicle lighting from Audi will react even more precisely to environmental conditions, and it will feature full electronic control. The first step in this direction will be taken this year in the form of innovative matrix LED headlights.

Looks like a great leap forward, if all works properly. It'll be expensive at first, but most people who buy Audis don't do so based on price anyway. My main concerns are with the mechanism that points the beams (more moving parts to fail) and that a change in US law would be needed to allow sequential turning signals.

Now if they can keep the plastic lens covers from going bad they will have a great improvement.

I'm looking forward to bulbs that never need replacement as long as you own the car.

Enhanced lighting is indeed an important safety featurel As long as the price tag for this already expensive car does not go up at the same time.

Too bad they can't design the headlights so they they don't blind you in the car ahead!

Audi cars really have a distinctive look on the road. The LED driving lights look great. But there is a price to pay to drive one of these autos.
