LMAO! Of course HAZMAT labels are required. But you obviously and conveniently did not read my 3rd, 4th, and 5th paragraphs.
Still waiting for the OSHA citations!

Excellent Cakes, so glad you're listening! You are part of the way there with your acknowledgment of HAZMAT labels required at every industry site, not just oil and gas production.
Now go back and really familiarize yourself with FracFocus where the well reports show all chemicals used. When you do, you will find that the only thing left out is the percentage ratios of the proprietary chemicals, not the chemical names.
The truth is setting you free as it always shall!!!

LOL, yes I am familiar with FracFocus, No, it is not complete.
Having been a HSE Manager for industries, I can't for the life of me remember a section related to Fracking chemicals specifically. Of course, there is a huge section on HAZMAT. Perhaps you could give me an OSHA citation...if you can?
I am sure that you also know that OSHA does make spot inspections of companies usually after there has been a complaint filed. There are about 6 enforcement officers in this entire state, so they are a little busy with their enforcement and teaching duties too.
If the company is found out of compliance with HAZMAT, the fines are miniscule (less than $10,000... usually a couple of thousand) unless there has been a related death!
It is far cheaper for an Oil Company or any company to take the chance of non-compliance, and bet there won't be an accident.
Ready for that citation! I have the OSHA book right here in front of me.

ROFLOL, Cakes should really take the time to investigate FracFocus and OSHA law. When all one does is read HuffPo the truth can be very elusive!
Then and only then will one be able to discern the truth because......
The truth shall set you free!

I wonder what the government really knows about fracking.

They've been "hiding" nothing Cakes. OSHA law has required every single chemical, at every single I dusty site, including oil and gas wells, be labeled with HAZMAT ID's for ages. In addition, FracFocus has detailed listings of fracturing fluids detailed voluntarily by oil and gas producers.
The truth shall set you free!

I would rather the Interior Dept be prudent, with ALL the information at hand before making final rules. After all it should not be a difficult thing to list the chemicals an Oil Company is using...unless they have something to hide!

I suspect government doesn't understand fracking well enough to develop any regulations that make sense anyway.

Big government redundancy at its worst.
All chemicals at every industrial site, whether oil and gas or not, must be labeled. It's been the law for ages.

Nobody is going to be happy with this. Only additional technology will solve this debate. And in the meantime a bunch of folks from the govt that aren't half as smart as they think they are will come up with something that is sure to have unintended consequences.
