Canadian authorities ordered Mi Joo Tour & Travel to cease its bus operation following an Oregon crash that killed nine passengers.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said Friday a post-crash investigation found the company was not following British Columbia law regarding driver hours of service and pre-trip inspections.

The action comes three days after the U.S. Department of Transportation revoked the Vancouver-based company's authority to provide passenger service in the United States. The agency alleged the company routinely dispatches drivers without ensuring they are properly rested.

It sounds like there was complete disregard for DOT regulations by the company. They should be put out of business.

The bus driver may have gotten sleep the night before the crash, but it's also a matter of a cumulative effect. Not having enough rest every evening will wear on you.

It would help greatly if you tried reading the news article first Discovery02! You know the old saying about assuming.

First line of the news article states the bus line is a Vancouver based firm!!! Please try caution and complete reading before spouting Discovery..

Boston, MA has similar bus lines named Fung Wah and Lucky Star which originate in Boston's Chinatown. They are noted for several crashes and breakdowns on thier primary runs to New York City. A wild ride with Chinese speaking bus drivers. The ride will keep you on your toes with no naps allowed.

It would appear that the Canadians have limits to what they'll put up with from their noisy neighbors to the south.

It is sad when it takes tragedies like this before people take notice

Perhaps it is time to promote greater bus safety regulations!

Good moves. There have been too many bus tragedies. Now try to find a way to prevent them.

There's no excuse for these tour bus companies to be so lax when drivers are dispatched. The responsibility that they have for each and every passenger's life cannot be overstated. I would never allow my family to book a tour with a company with such negligent management.
