While energy forecasters see lower gas prices in 2013, George Anthony of New Salem is not betting on it.

"My broker at T. Rowe Price said gas prices are going up," Anthony said Thursday night outside the Rutter's on South Richland Avenue in Spring Garden Township. "Because of the world situation, our new secretary of defense will cave into (President Barack) Obama's wishes."

America's new secretary of defense, Anthony explained, will decrease the country's worldwide military presence and increase American fuel prices.

Forecasters say ample oil supplies and weak U.S. demand will keep gas prices low, the Associated Press reported this week.

"That would be awesome," said Chris Endres of New Freedom, who noted that he was surprised that gas prices went down and then up again after the 2011

BINGO, dr047! WHY are the prices up? Last year on this date oil was $101/barrel with gas being $3.53/gallon in my area. Today oil is presently at $92.79/barrel.

Well, oil is over $8/barrel lower. For every $1 a barrel of oil decline, gas is supposed to....(SUPPOSE, being the keyword) decline by 2.5 cents per gallon. Doing the quick math 8 x 2.5 equals 20 cents. So gas should actually be $3.33/gallon and today it is $3.63 in my area!

Anyone see a problem with that??????

"U.S. demand will keep gas prices low"

So why did the prices just go up?

Don't believe the hype -- oil and gas companies are in business to make huge profits at the expense of consumers!

If the blame for the current price increase goes to Obama then we should thank him for the big decrease in gasoline prices since the election.

hey... nobody knows for sure what gas prices will do. That's why this site is so important!
It helps to have an idea on what "might" happen... but just don't put all your hopes on a guessing game.

I'm not seeing a connection between rising gas prices & a decrease in US military presence around the world, but if that belief will help his broker make mor money off him, then the broker has done his job.
