Our gas prices are at historical all-time highs for this time of year. Our very corrupt government refuses to properly regulate the culprits responsible for our insane oil and gas prices. 1. Speculators. They concoct any insane excuse for raising oil and gas market prices. 2. Big Oil. They don't properly maintain and repair their pipelines and refineries so every year we have refinery fires, explosions, and malfunctions. Then they sell and shut down refineries, and arrange for many of the existing refineries to purposely operate well below refining capacity to create artificial shortages in gasoline to push gasoline prices higher. I understand big oil exporting oil and gas to make profits but when they export so much distillate fuel to keep diesel prices insanely high, then the government should do something to encourage big oil to keep more distillate fuel here but our government just does not care one bit if we pay 3$ for gasoline or 6$ for gasoline. Our government has not shown any interest in lowering energy prices for their citizens. In fact, energy prices have skyrocketed under Bush and especially under Obama, like our electric bills, many of which have jumped up to 50% in just one year. After 2012's all-time high gas prices, which broke 2011's all-time high gas prices, I "look forward to" speculators and big oil pushing our gas prices to new all-time highs for 2013 because our government will not adequately regulate these bastards and we'll see many refineries blow up, catch fire, or malfunction again. Who remembers last year, in Washington state, California, Texas, or Venezuela's refineries that caught fire or blew up?
