Hard not to like Bernie for fighting for the middle class. Like all politicians you don't have to agree with 100% but gotta give credit when do because it is rare to give them any credit at all.

Stand up, pound your chest and scream to the heavens. Get your bribes, find no problems and go back to business as usual.

Because I'm on Gas Buddy, I'd noticed this trend! Thanks Bernie for investigating this problem and making it public! You have my vote any day! Too many other politicians are in bed with big business and are unable to look out for the populace as a result!

That's odd. Vermont prices are always less than neighboring New York and nearby Connecticut. They also seem to be on par with neighboring Massachussettes. What's the big deal?

"I can't figure out why Vermont elects a socialist. " Recent studies show that children in the government-run school system have a favorable view of socialism and a negative view of capitalism. That's what happens when you let socialists run the educational system, instead of capitalists. Problem is that socialists don't produce anything and THAT is why we have a fiscal crisis.

side note: 12/11/12 prices in Downtown Burlington "dropped" as Bernie released this online... Proof GasBuddy Works.
This was a collective effort, not just a political move by the left or the right. It was a statement about how and why people not just in Vermont are getting ripped off at the pump. Price Fluctuations of $0.15-$0.20 from one County to the next need to be kept in check, especially over prolonged periods of time.
I agree with you MidNJ, Bernie's solution is nothing more than government tracking of GasBuddy. It allows people to view the local area online with links to our forums and site. In addition, this will raise awareness with Federal involvement on the National scene. There is a lot more information available about local questions people had concerning this gas issue on that site.
Waste of taxpayer money? Maybe? Agree with his politics, irrelevant. Bernie likes to make things that are not in the spotlight in his district that might affect other ares in the Country known to all. GasBuddy Helped in a major way. Thanks all.

Doubt if it will come up with any real resolution to the problem of price fixing.

I noticed that there are only 4 maybe 5 major brands in the Burlington, VT area.

It is not unusual to have a $0.15/gallon difference in price from 1 county to the next here in western PA.
