Jet fuel has poorer Lubricity properties and would have fried the high pressure fuel pumps.

If it was a diesel vehicle it would have been fine, but gasoline vehicles, ouch.

Wow, they keep making these mistakes in delivery by the oil companies. These truckers must be working too much!

I hope the gas that was supposed to go to the gas stations did not end up in jet fuel tanks.
Things could be a lot worse when an engine stalls out at 5,000 feet altitude.

Putting jet fuel in a plane with a piston engine will cause the engine to catch on fire. At least that is what is taught in Aircraft mechanic schools. (I have not experienced this) Not a nice thing to have happen at 5000ft.
The point is, THAT is what is likely to happen if you burn jet fuel in your car. Unless your car engine burns diesel, then there is not likely to be a problem. Ive seen that done.
Now if it was just aviation gas, its just high octane gas. I have heard of people putting that in race cars.

How can they 'unknowingly ? pump that into a regular gas station tanks? THey have a bill of lading with the description of their load- unless the someone at the refinery where they pick up the fuels messed up.

OOPS!
All fuel trucks have the "code number" of the liquid posted on the side of the tanks so that fire fighters can determine the type of liquid inside the tank. Gasoline code is #1203 and jet fuel code is #1863.

Too bad it wasn't LL100 or Ll110 avgas. At the worst, that stuff would have just taken out the cat converters.

Jet fuel is about the same as kerosene. Just putting that out there because many people think jet fuel is some sort of ultra high octane gasoline.
