Here we go again no good reason for gas to rise but the doom and gloom predictors are causing a false scarcity.

Speculators at work. 8 hour shut down is not going to appreciably affect supplies.

Mittens wasn't right about much of anything. He picked loony Bay Buchanan as a "senior strategist." That's about as dumb as you can get! Then, he believes his own campaign's shill polling, which cost him Ohio. Mitt's too dumb to be President. Most Republicans are.

California is considering taking "midgrade" off the market. The only people who buy midgrade and premium are usually idiots. 99% of the cars on the road DO NOT BENEFIT from using higher octane gasoline. Also, you DO realize that addition of ethanol boosts octane, right? No? Dummy.

Bloomberg's full of crap. Regular just dove down another nickel this morning, after falling a quarter the past week. The speculators who trade futures are the only ones getting screwed...and it's ABOUT TIME!

Isn't this a repeat of October news? The gas prices soared and then there was an investigation that the refinery truly wasn't down as was reported. I wonder if this is a repeat ploy to artificially raise prices again.
Sorry California people for your hardships. Something should be done about this!

It's because suupply is so narrowly balanced versus demand. Supply is artificially choked off by the gasoline regs CA insists on imposing. The oil companies would be well advised to turn to Moonbeam and say, hey , forget about spending billions you don't have on high-speed trains to nowhere. Buy our refineries instead. YOU handle the supply end of California gasoline. All The Won's worshippers should think that's a swell idea.

So, the commodities price rose not because there was any impact to production, but just because a compressor shut down for 1 day? Ugh.

. Once again, no major refinery has been built in America since 1979! And you wonder why gasoline prices are so high and spike every time a refinery hiccups!

Uh-oh, not again. The California gasoline market is over-regulated. So, I am sure the answer is . . . more regulation.

Quite a business plan, shut refinery down short term to raise profits long term. Federalize the industry it's risking our national security.

typical big oil. You have a BP refinery in Washington that went down, then a Chevron refinery in California that went down, and an Exxon-Mobil refinery that went down in Texas, now a Valero refinery problem in California. This can't be a coincidence. These crooks do whatever it takes to make sure they take us out to the cleaners at the gas pumps. Valero is the one of the companies, along with Conoco Philips, that shut down and sold so many refineries in the Northeast to create a chronic gasoline shortage in that region. Come on, Washington, it's time to do your jobs and protect your people from being robbed. Oh I forgot, you frauds want to do the same to us with this impending fiscal cliff and the infamous Obamacare.

And there is no backup compressor, sounds like they need an excuse to increase prices again.
