It's happening here, too.
Arab oil money has been buying Disney, ABC, Citibank, etc. for many years.

It really is a hard decision to make - especially in today's economic climate.

It's not just Australia, since China now has all the money to buy things. Look at Canada with large Oil investments in tar sands & more and now gov't has given OK for Chinese gov't to buy biggest Oil venture in Canada ever - with the note that other gov'ts need not apply as this is a 'once only' deal...so China wins twice!! The XL pipeline may be 'too much, too late' as more oil goes to China. The pipeline to BC coast will be first to flow, even though started yrs later ----mark my words!!!!

This isn't the only thing they are buying. We need to get a handle on our economy ASAP. We should have built the Keystone pipeline days ago!

he says. “I’m very, very sad to see how everything’s turning out for the next generation; we’ve seen the best of Australia and I think it’s only going to deteriorate from here on.”

George Clift, 83, who refused to sell, is upset that his cousin Tony did.
“You’re supposed to hand it down to the next generation, so if you’re not going to do that, you shouldn’t have been handed the land in the first place,” he says. “I’m very, very sad to see how everything’s turning out for the next generation; we’ve seen the best of Australia and I think it’s only going to deteriorate from here on.”
