Detroit police are investigating whether a group of AK-47 wielding robbers who hit two gas stations Wednesday morning are responsible for several similar crimes that have recently occurred across the city.

Sam Adbullah was manning the till at the BP gas station on 7 Mile near I-75 around 4 a.m. when he looked up at the security camera.

“I had the camera turned on in the back. Usually I don’t, but tonight for some reason I had it on the back,” Adbullah told WWJ’s Ron Dewey.

Adbullah said he saw a vehicle drive up and four men exit the car with assault rifles drawn.

Dr. Gary Kleck, a criminologist here at FSU, researched and wrote a book about whether or not it was effective having laws which restricted gun ownership. Interested in any of his conclusions? Guns are used THREE times more often to PREVENT a crime than in the commission of a crime. FYI, Dr. Kleck is and has been a liberal, but was honest enough to call it like it is and tell the truth. I recommend this book to any who wants to know the truth about gun control laws

Use a gun in a crime and you've exceeded your right. But very likely: They were confident that the attendant would not be exercising his first amendment rights, especially if Detroit has tight gun laws as reported. Like the first amendment, gun laws are only as effective as folks willingness to abide by them and typically the only predictable result of gun laws is that folks in need of self defense must resort to crime.

No new laws will make any difference with the lawbreakers. Gun control laws only hurt law abiding citizens who want to protect themselves.
