Disagreeing on a topic is one thing, but threatening people is unacceptable regardless of which side you're on.

Just drill new holes, but we are talking 'the peoples free republic of boulder' see what happens when you turn loose a bunch of tree huggers & legalize pot, they turn violent, just hit your hooka and drive your electric cars and when you need work done on your yurt, see what shows up but a GAS powered service truck, why because electric won't get you there

Gee, it would seem like the good citizens of Boulder prefer to keep their drinking water free of all those toxic fracking chemicals that get pumped into the ground water.

If you have not spent time in Boulder there is no way for you to understand what the place is like. I have never seen a town quite like it. Fracking might be fine in lots of places, but it is not for the people of that city/county.

So when the tax money leaves, and the citizen's taxes go up, you know who to blame: environmental wackos.

"A group of opponents mobbed around an oil and gas industry representative in an effort to intimidate her, yelling she "wasn't welcome in Boulder."
This is the lefts way of debating. Now if someone were to treat them the same way they would be accused of employing the politics of hate and interfering with their right of free speech.

Concerning your comment about whether or not we will ever see lower prices due to "fracking" you are essentially correct that oil (like any resource) has a market value which is determined by the world market. Anytime that you INCREASE the world supply of crude oil (or if there is a DECREASE in demand), there is a tendency for its price to decline. The opposite is also true. DECREASE the supply (or INCREASE the demand) and the price will go up.
Some of the emerging countries like China and India are increasing their demand significantly to where it would drive the prices for crude even higher than what they are currently. So you will not likely see a dramatic drop in prices (Either for crude or at the pump) unless the supply is increased accordingly.
Your President does a masterful job of speaking out of both sides of his mouth and is also hypocritical in how his administration implements energy policies. The only reason that prices have not escalated into the stratosphere is because there is an energy boom in various parts of the country on PRIVATE AND STATE lands where Federal jurisdiction is limited. We are now a net exporting country of oil for which BO is taking credit, but has actually come about despite his (and his EPA's) efforts to impede said oil and natural gas boom.
Also, there are other factors which regulate the prices of crude and its refined products. The counterfeiting of your currency by the Federal Reserve (printing of money a/k/a inflation) happens to be a major cause. If you were to start printing money from the basement of your home, you would end up making little rocks out of big rocks (Prison). But when the government does it, it is called "stimulus". So when this administration pumps $40 BILLION dollars into our economy each MONTH, this competes with the money which is also in circulation and it bids the prices up on oil, gasoline, and consumer goods, as well. How's the cost for groceries doing in your area?

OK, guys. First off there is no indication that these people were part of any type of "green Movement," just that they were residents. That's all. I dont think we can say that fracking is 100% safe and there are no ill effects that flow from the practice. These people are just concerned.
Additionally, some have commented that these people do not want cheap gas or should not complain because they use fossil fuels. This misses the gist of their complaint. They are not against fossil fuels at all, they are against something they feel is not safe. Cheaper gas? Not happening. I haven't seen cheaper gas because of fracking, and I dont know that we will. As long as that oil is exported and sold on the world market, how can you expect a lower price?

Yes, what you are saying is "technically" true, but are you aware of the differences in depth from where we get our drinking water and from where hydraulic fracturing occurs? Hydraulic fracturing has been a process used for four decades with no problems at all. Now, with the advent of the Green Revolution serious allegations such as these (Contamination of water) have been made with NO EVIDENCE to support them. A video making the "Green" circuit reveals a faucet catching fire when lit. After it was proven to have come from methane gas which migrated into their water system NATURALLY, it didn't stop the proliferation of this video by extreme environmentalists with their false and deceptive data.
These "greenies" have an agenda commensurate with the United Nations "Agenda 21" which has NOTHING to do with the environment, but EVERYTHING to do with population control. And YOU are just as much of a victim as anyone who is not embracing and propagating their lies. As Nikita Khrushchev once quipped regarding those who advanced their Communist goals: "Some are members, some are not" .

Oil companies should stop selling gasoline in Boulder. That would teach these idiots a lesson.

Sapper08, your fact is just a tad broad, the ground water for drinking comes from much shallower levels than where the drilling process takes place. I'm sure you are also against low cost gas to heat your home just like all the folks in Boulder County, yah, right. Just NIMBY.

From the article: ""It is important that we not make decisions out of fear," she said. "Instead decisions based on facts."
Before public comment began, Wiedenbeck had requested a security escort from the building and back to her car following her testimony. A group of fracking opponents surrounded and followed her several blocks, shouting at her.
"We have spoken, now get out of our county!" one yelled."

That's not the point.
The point is the toxic "proprietary" toxic chemicals they push down into the ground WITHOUT any kind of regulation!
Polluted ground water aquifers, anyone???
