Kind of make one want to put a few dollars into a mutual fund or ETFs that invest in pipeline companies does it not. If one is luck enough to have a 401k that allows a piece of the 401k balance to be "self directed", then this is an investment area one just might want to look into. When one considers that there is a shortage of pipeline capacity in the US and Canada today to carry Alberta crude, North Dakota Bakken shale crude, Texas Eagle Ford shale crude & natural gas and the Marcellus natural gas production to market, it makes pipeline companies just that much more attractive.

Now, let's get the Keystone Pipeline built. Also a pipeline to move the oil from North Dakota to the refineries would be a good investment.
