It all depends on how you drive it. The average person will drive very aggressively and expect it to meet the EPA estimates while they should just be thankful that they are getting 40 MPG. If they were driving a regular car they would likely be getting in the upper 20's.

I wouldn't expect the Fusion to be much higher. I know Ford approaches the hybrid drive a little different than Toyota but there is only so much you can do without hurting performance or dropping the weight significantly.

This is not to exonerate automobile makers, but if we were to confine the FED to only their Constitutionally delegated powers, most of our problems would be vaporized overnight.
