Special financing, reduced APR rates, employee pricing on offer to New York and New Jersey residents savaged by winds and damage.

Local dealers say at least this is one headache that people can get rid of painlessly.
With personal tragedies, devastated homes, long-term temporary housing to find and FEMA claims and insurance negotiations to deal with, Hurricane Sandy victims have enough to handle before they add the replacement of cars and trucks to their list.

More than 250,000 vehicles are estimated to have been written off, and while used car prices seem to have risen, dealers throughout New York are looking to support their communities by offering employee pricing, reduced financing and other perks to help them get back on the road.

Such a Deal for you. Now look out for the countless submerged cars which will 'flood' the used car market across the country. It is time to take advantage of Car Fax when making a used car purchase.

I disagree with you humblepie - if it was me out there, I'd happily grab any straw of hope. This is a great thing they are doing. So what if they can afford to - it still is a great thing. Thank you, every one of you dealers, etc.

It would be a deal if you were in the market before Sandy. It will only help a few.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country better watch out for used vehicles. They'll ship the totaled ones out of "Sandy-hit" areas and auction them off or sell them cheap. That's why I'll only buy new.

Soooo what happens to the more than 250K vehicles? Recycled? Cleaned up and salvage? Sold as salvaged vehicles?

I sure hope it is real help being offered but can't help to think dealers are walking over each other to get at that insurance money!!!! Rebates help but at $500 (Hyundai higher at $750 - go figure) its not that much - here if Costco member got $1,000 from Ford without a disaster.

Also, states Paragon? is ensuring 'all work and repairs are covered under warranty' - how does that happen since warranty is more for defects, not weather related damages??? Nice if can get free repairs though.
Also, if deal looks too good to believe, look again as there's lots of damaged cars that will be fixed up & sold & my experience here is that new car dealers selling cars is as bad as many small used car dealers. My last experience proved it & they were more immune from action (court or otherwise) than small used car dealers too!!!
