Mistakes happen, nothing is perfect. But when a company is caught deliberately lying, it effects "trust". I am sure Toyota took a hit in sales when it was making the "floormat" excuse. The article uses one source to determine that buyer interest in SOME models of Hyundai and Kia have dropped. There is no data to indicate why it dropped.But author assumes that it's due to the MPG problem. Has interest in competitor's offerings grown? Can't tell from reading this. Are sales actually down? No data here. Shoddy reporting.
