Yeah, and if it did not, they would raise the price anyway.

Energy conservation should not be confused with energy efficiency. efficiency is the goal along with an unlimited energy supply.

The best solution to all of our energy woes is to simply conserve what we have. While it can be argued we could have been achieving 40, 50+ mpg years ago, we didn't, but it's good we're working on getting there now. I like that people are starting to realize this and are becoming more environmentally aware.

It still needs repeating : Lower the oil prices here and the economy will pick up. Its kinda like trying to run a vehicle on gas/diesel but instead of giving it what it needs to run effectively & efficiently starving it hoping it will continue to run as it did with the right amount. IF gas/diesel prices dropped at least $1 a gal people would have more $$$ to buy other things thereby improving the ailing economy.

Alternate to oil is needed, we heard a lot of oil stock limitation, they are changing their stand now, where are they? ( who said oil will last another 25 -30 years and raised gas prices)

While we must continue down our road to energy efficiency and independence, we must recognize that other countries will go down their own path at their own speed. Germany is arguably further down the road than we are but rather than hold them back we should speed up our own progress.
