"Sales have strengthened each week in November, which bodes well for a strong finish to the month and the year," said J.D Power analyst John Humphrey, in a prepared statement. "We expect healthy sales in December, as the industry continues to recover from Sandy and leads into its year-end sales events."

LMC Automotive, an affiliate of J.D. Power, forecast November volume of 1.1 vehicles, with r

I don't buy it...with taxes increasing in January...we will be back in a recession....

Wait for the shock in January when people see their paychecks drop by $300-$400 per month....

The economy is back and has been back for some time. I is politically incorrect to say so with unemployment still around 8%.

Sounds like good news for the auto industry. Not sure if I'll be part of the 12% rise though.

I am a bit skeptical about that. There are still sales trying to sell off 2012 inventories.

If I ever buy a new vehicle again I will get it 1 yr old but still new to get a good deal

One hopes this will continue the growth of sales among cars that are more efficient in gas mileage.

Car sales occur when cars move to dealers lots and not when they are sold so cannot believe when these things are stated this way.

I don't care about US auto workers. They voted for Obama, whose policies run counter to my interests. They do not have my interests in mind. I feel no allegiance to them. My next car will be made anywhere but Michigan.

The need to replace aging vehicles has been cited as a reason for increased auto sales all year.

Replacement vehicles can be used cars; doesn't necessarily translate to new car sales.

Zuegma: people are probably just being stupid with their money. We are in an economic crisis because so many individuals and governmental institutions want "it", whatever the "it" is, NOW.

We are praying for those of you on the East Coast.

I've heard it for Canada also but I find it very surprising with the current state of the economy in both countries (not as hard hit as the US but barely eeking by economic stagnation).
