Time for those buys to use VW engines....

It is not only the lower sulphur fuel formulation, but also the engines that are designed to burn it more cleanly. You cannot tell the difference from sight or smell between a new diesel VW and the gasoline versions.

Bear in mind that a historical rule of thumb is that a diesel engine gets 30% more miles per gallon than the same vehicle will get using an equivalent gasoline engine with a few authors quoting a 37% greater mile per gallon relationship in the last few months. Quit looking at the posted price of gasoline versus diesel in your area to base a decision on whether or not to buy a diesel powered vehicle. To get apples to apples comparison of the fuel cost of a vehicle with a gasoline engine versus the same vehicle with a TDI diesel or any other diesel engine, you have to work out the fuel cost per mile.

Low sulfur diesel is merely cleaner than the old diesel formulation. It is still a particulate matter spewer that remains unhealthy and causes many pulmonary health issues.
