From the article;
"when it comes to advancing American know how on solar technology, they're in many ways working together with the US Government to make clean energy a major priority for the next decade and beyond."
???????????????????
My question, who is they (they're) - ??

How interesting that the companies dependent upon intelligence, creative and science-based technological people are the ones on the forefront of renewable energy. Obviously, there is a direct correlation.

Solar panels are still too expensive and yield too little

Telling a gullible public that one's company is "Green" helps sell a bunch of stuff.

"100 percent renewable energy by the end of the year." Now that's ambition...or PR.

I think a major reason for these companies going to solar farming is to become less reliant on the electric grid. With more data being stored in "The Cloud", these companies cannot afford to let their equipment go down because of a widespread electrical outage.
But it also makes for a good green image.

When you have Billions in cash sitting around it makes for a good corporate image to the greenies...and to offset your manufacturing in China...

Ah, they might be rich jerks, but they are rick jerks who are actually making a difference in the technology race (US patents) and local employment (manufacture and installation) in the US. So, rich jerks have some good redeeming points as well, at times Sure beats keeping on importing oil from Venezuela and the Mid-East and exporting all those $$$$$, doesn't it?

If big companies continue to go green this way their may be hope for the average consumer. This will not only hopefully drop the price but encourage more efficient panels.
