The FDA's decision to allow powdered ethanol on the market has reversed it's decision.
Great Science, used all the time in the pharmaceutical industry. But FDA decided it is not ready for prime time.

SoylentGrain

Are you familiar with chelation and colloidal chemistry?

Pretty neat stuff.
It's the basis for lots of patents these days.
Particularly for stabilizing things, that would normally be unstable,
or oxidize or enter into many unwanted reactions.

On this planet, Ethanol exists as a liquid. The only way to "powder" ethanol would be to freeze it and break up the solid into fine particles or freeze it into small spheres. It could also be encapsulated within a solid to appear as a solid material. But, someone is playing free and loose with definitions.

CNN: Regulator reverses approval of powdered alcohol

I assumed this powder would be used for fuel! But, this is some kind of just-add-water alcoholic beverage. I still remember joking at school about "Powdered beer: just-add-water!" and to think that would even be possible is kind of hilarious! I bet it would taste like powdered too. Yuck, LOL.
