Fuel prices are going down, but we probably won't see $2.00/gallon gas again. Even with new discoveries, the oil companies want to keep prices as high as possible to offset exploration and spill-cleanup costs. Opec also can slow output to drive up prices.

Pretty much doubt that will ever happen again! How else can the big guys at the gas manufacturer could live in their big houses,or take all those nice vacations. Wish the government would step in and say enough is enough!!!

Only way it happens is if an alternative CHEAP fuel source comes out. Companies are too addicted to the $$.

Could be there now if it were not for excessive gas taxes.

$2 gas will never happen again, unless the economy tanks like it did while Bush was in office. Down from $4+ in summer 2008 to $1.50 by winter 2009.

The days of $2 gas are like the dinosaurs that created the oil; a memory.

. Crude oil prices haven't dropped much yet, but when they do, we will prolly see gas around $2... We've been under $3 here most of the past 9 months...

I guess I should move to Phoenix. Rather than prices going down, our "regular" 87 octane gas went from $3.079 to $3.459 just yesterday. I'm thinking we will probably see $5.00 per gallon prices before we see $2.00 (or less) per gallon prices.

How low? Remember when the gas tax was posted on the pump? The gas may be free but you must still pay the tax.

They tell us that the only reason the price of oil is so high is because demand is up. So, let's demand less.

If and when the President or the reps get behind drilling safely, as much as possible, locally and in country, our gas prices will never drop the $1.00 to $2.00 gallon an expert like Tracey Lundberg stated will occur immediately. The promise/threat of US oil production here will drop it this much inside of the first year. Why? OPEC will want to gain every dollar possible before we flood the market w/our own. It will take longer to see US produced oil in the pipeline but the promise of us doing so will have both an immediate/ future affect on our current prices.
