Brazil and Sweden have taken steps to create a more diverse set of transportation fuels.

Granted, only about twice as diverse as us, but two is better than one, and it's a good start.

No horror stories from there about ruined engines with ethanol, but much higher usage of ethanol in their fuel supplies nonetheless.

Hundreds of millions of miles, and again no horror stories. Alcohol has huge potential for local production down to the level "area." Clean and sound, produced now from a variety of sources.

People use their dislike of the corn industry to rail on ethanol, one of it's many beneficial products. But that's not a reason to dismiss alcohol as an energy source. Remember, those who have much to lose try to create bad vibes.

Alcohol in your nation's fuel supply does much less damage than alcohol in someone's bloodstream, but it should remain a choice for all on both accounts.
