He used the name "flyboy", or something like that, here on the Twin Cities Gas Prices website. His death was due to complications of his diabetes. As an insulin dependent diabetic he lost his wings. Now he has them back. Gunnar was an avid fan of this website. He used it to find and then stock up on gasoline even though his Geo Metro got 47 MPG. Before his computer broke down and to help him recover from a serious strike Gunnar would make a daily report of gas prices in the northern suburbs and all over the Twin Cities. Those reports were the therapy that helped him recover from his stroke. There will be a memorial service for Gunnar in early December. All who knew him from this website are invited to attend the service. There will be more information posted about it as the plans are made.

I remember seeing him around about 10 yrs ago. I think there was something in the paper back in 2002 and many joined from the TwinCities after that. RIP, flyboy. He was Gunnar B. Bjornson III. My paternal grandfather was the first, my dad was the second, and he was the third. Although in the Icelandic tradition of patronymics my family would have had the last name Gunnarsson (Gunnar's son). They would because my grandfather and father's first name was Gunnar. Sadly there will probably not be a GBB IV.
