Here's an interesting game. I will start with a highway and the next person will name a city that the highway runs through. The following person will then name a highway that runs through that city. Then after that, another person will name another city that the highway runs through. Etcetera...

I'll do the first 3 to start off.

Also home to the city-owned City of Prineville Railway.

Even though it is city owned, it has never taken tax money for operations in its 101 years of operation. (I'm sure city funds were used for its construction.)

After taking a few shots of the trains, we head out of town on:

Oh, well, I guess I fell victim to folklore....

But still, smokers of that semi-legal substance still stop there to take pictures.

Head up to Redmond, OR

and yes I didn't get the wrong state. (see link)

Actually, no...The town of Weed gets its name from the founder of the local lumber mill and pioneer Abner Weed, who discovered that the area's strong winds were helpful in drying lumber.

It is also famous for being the last town that George and Lennie worked in Steinbeck's novella, Of Mice and Men.

Grants Pass, OR

Per Wikipedia: Grants Pass is also the birthplace of Dutch Bros. Coffee which began at the "coffee house" on the corner of D and 6th streets in downtown Grants Pass. Brothers Travis and Dane Boersma started the franchise in 1992 and it quickly spread throughout the region.

I have driven on I-10 from Austin to Mobile a bunch of times recently and Pascagoula will always stick in my head as the sign that shows up when I'm almost in Mobile.

A local thing to do is to drive to the top of Mt. Graham in nearby Coronado National Forest.

Safford is also where my dad is currently residing.

Cabool MO..

The city was named after Kabul, Afghanistan, using an older English spelling of the name, in 1882. The British had just pulled out of Kabul at the end of the Second Anglo-Afghan War in 1881. As local legend goes, one of the construction engineers who built the railroad through Cabool also worked on railroad construction in Afghanistan and thought this area of southern Texas County looked similar to the region of Kabul, Afghanistan.[6][7] Prior to being called Cabool, the community was known as Cedar Bluff. It remains the only "Cabool" in the United States of America.
